Tony Hargitay

Tony has over 40 years of experience delivering projects in diverse safety critical environments including aerospace, nuclear and over 20 years in railway infrastructure. He has extensive experience of setting up and leading multi-disciplinary teams in the UK, US, and Australia. Tony also has significant international business development experience, having bid for, won, and executed contracts in more than 10 countries.

Tony joined Network Rail in March 2016 to lead Network Rail Consulting's Technical team on California High Speed Rail then transitioning to set up the System Integrator Team for Sydney Digital Systems programme in Jan 2019.Tony also heads up the global delivery of Systems Integration across the NRC portfolio

Prior to joining Network Rail Consulting, Tony was Programme Manager for Network Rail’s Great Western signalling programme for 8 years. Before this Tony was Programme Director for London Undergrounds Sub Surface Lines signalling upgrade, working for London Underground from 2007 - 2009 and formerly as the Project Director for Invensys Rail (now Siemens) from 2000. Previously, Tony managed all fuel handling maintenance and upgrade contracts for British Energy Nuclear Power stations for 10 years, following 5 years developing, delivering, and managing manufacturing systems for Rolls Royce Ltd.

Tony is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Mechanical Engineers. He has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Warwick University,
