David Harris

David is a professional Engineer with 12 years in the UK rail industry with a strong background in Systems Engineering. He has expertise in the development, implementation and delivery of ETCS and ATO systems, exercising a passion for the introduction of new technology in the railway.

David joins Network Rail Consulting having previously held a leading technical role on the Thameslink Program, where he had a significant contribution to achieving ETCS Authority for Placing into Service (APIS). He has experience running multi-phase testing campaigns, taking pride in applying a professional standard of engineering practice to ensure efficient product delivery. He has also gained further knowledge and experience managing multi-disciplinary projects in a previous role for the System Integrator on behalf of the DfT, where his focus was on establishing and maintaining effective client and supplier relationships to ensure transparent and efficient delivery.

David is a motivated Chartered Engineer focused on the continuing progression of the rail industry both in the UK and internationally. Has extensive knowledge and specialist expertise from previous roles and is committed to sharing and expanding this more widely.
