James Campbell

James is an experienced Rail Operations professional with 15 years of rail industry experience within operations in Melbourne and at a national level. Beginning as a Train Driver, James has progressed his career into Operational Safety Management, Network Strategy and Project Integration, Rail Standards Development, Operational Training, and finally the design and implementation of CBTC systems.

James joined Network Rail Consulting in June 2022 as Associate Director Rail Operations

Prior to joining Network Rail Consulting, James was the Operations Integration Manager at Rail Network Alliance where he was responsible for leading a team of experts in rail operations, operational and network safety, and operational training. James primary role was to provide strategic direction in the design, development, testing and operational readiness for introduction of CBTC to the Metro network in Melbourne.

James holds a Diploma in Project Management and is a member of the Institute of Rail Operators and is based in Melbourne.
