Matthieu Thomas

Matthieu has over 25 years of experience in transportation projects across three continents (Europe, Australia, North America). He has extensive competency in systems engineering, systems integration and complex project management in automotive and rail. Matthieu joined Network Rail Consulting in August 2024 as Associate Director.

Prior to joining Network Rail Consulting, Matthieu was consulting at Transport for New South Wales for over 5 years, managing and delivering both trackside digital signalling and rolling stock technical upgrades projects. Before this, he spent 3 years with Alstom in Australia, in different managing positions on Sydney Light Rail and European Train Control System projects. Before moving to Australia, Matthieu worked for Renault in France for 15 years, specifically in engineering and innovation departments.

Matthieu is a Chartered Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers Australia for Systems Engineering and Project management. He has a Master of Engineering degree from Ecole Catholique des Arts et Metiers (ECAM) in Lyon, France.

Matthieu is based in Sydney.
