Rakesh Bhogal

Rakesh has 5 years' experience across both IT and OT Security domains, largely focussing on SCADA/IACS deployments within the Rail network in the UK. Rakesh has contributed to a variety of high-profile Infrastructure Projects based in the UK including Thameslink ETCS L2 and Traction Power Centralised Management System deployments. Rakesh joined Network Rail in January 2019 as a Security Assurance Specialist responsible for assessing the information security posture of new and existing infrastructure projects across the country. Rakesh joined Network Rail Consulting in October 2021 to join the Digital Systems Project in Sydney, Australia as the Lead Cyber Security Engineer.

Prior to joining Network Rail, Rakesh held various positions with Bedfordshire Police after joining as a graduate and rising to Information Security Officer. At Network Rail, Rakesh conducted internal audits on the Fixed Telecoms Network as part of alignment to the Network and Information Systems Regulation and was responsible for the management and planning of security assessments of SCADA/IACS, Telecoms, and Signalling Infrastructure Projects nationwide.

Rakesh is an Associate Member of the British Computer Society and holds certifications in Risk Management, ISO 27001 Implementation, and Information Security Management.

Rakesh is based in Sydney.
