Stephen John Allday

A seasoned professional with over 50 years’ experience covering all facets of rail transport systems including design, construction and maintenance. International experience in UK, Middle East, Asia and Australia/New Zealand, operating at senior and executive levels across all aspects of business and projects operation (Programme Management, Project Director, Alliance Management, Consortium Management, Maintenance, Bid Management, Systems Development and Integration, Procurement and Leadership Boards, Government Minister and Cabinet Presentations, etc.).

Stephen joined Network Consulting in March 2025 as the Engineering Director for Australia, based in Sydney.

Prior to joining NRC Stephen has held senior/executive positions at Sydney Metro as the Engineering Director for Sydney Metro City and Southwest Project, at Canberra Metro as the Executive Director for Procurement and Delivery, at Saudi Arabia Railways as the Program Director for Systems, and at Ansaldo STS (Hitachi Rail) as their Head of Projects for Australasia and Southern Africa. Stephen was also the General Manager for three internationally recognised companies running Business Units in the UK, these being Balfour Beatty Rail, Siemens Transportation and Volker Rail.

Stephen is a Chartered Engineer in Electrical Engineering, and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, a Fellow of the Permanent Way Institute, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Railway Operators, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation and a Fellow of the Institute of Railway Signal Engineers (he is also a member of their Global Council, representing Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India and the Netherlands).

Stephen is based in Sydney.
