Susanna Homan

As a senior leader within the transport sector, Susie has 30 years of international rail experience across three modes of rail transport; passenger rail, trams and light rail.

Commercially and customer focussed, whilst understanding the operational integration complexities, Susie has managed the refranchising transition of 3 different rail companies; Arriva Trains and Thameslink in the UK and Yarra Trams in Australia.

Susie provided early operator expertise during the construction of the Gold Coast light rail, as Business Integration Director and went on to become the Customer Service Director.

As Director of People, Operations and Railway Strategy, Susie led the covid crisis management coordination across 23 train operators in the UK; working with Governments, Train Operating Companies, the main Infrastructure provider in the UK (Network Rail) and other supporting organisations.

Susie joined Network Rail Consulting in April 2022 as Director, Operations within the Australian team.

Prior to joining Network Rail Consulting, Susie was Director, People, Operations and Railway Strategy at the Rail Delivery Group in the UK. Susie’s 30 year rail career has spanned passenger rail, tram and light rail operations across Australia and the UK. Susie started as a Customer Welcome Host at her local station, was accepted onto the Graduate Management training scheme and from there has enjoyed the learning and growth that the variety of positions within the rail sector has afforded her.

Susie has a National Diploma in Business Studies and Finance, a NEBOSH safety certificate and successfully completed Network Rail’s Business Leaders Programme.

Susie is based in Brisbane, Australia.
