Ebrahim (Ibby) Tambe

Ibby has over 6 years’ experience in the rail industry, specializing in Alternating Current/Direct Current (AC/DC) contact systems, High Voltage (HV) power distribution systems, and Low Voltage (LV) fixed plant. He has a wealth of experience in implementing innovative technologies, such as remote monitoring for signalling power assets and Artificial Intelligence (AI) based early failure detection on overhead Contact systems.

Ibby joined Network Rail Consulting (NRC) in January 2025 as a Managing Consultant – Power Systems Engineer. Ibby will be providing technical advice and support to clients on solving power system problems through the implementation of new maintenance and asset management programmes.

Prior to joining NRC , Ibby was the Electrification & Plant (E&P) Maintenance Engineer for London Euston. He led multidisciplinary teams on one of the UK’s busiest and most critical rail routes. He joined Network Rail in 2018 as an E&P Senior Technical Officer and rose to the positions of Principal Technical Officer and Assistant E&P Maintenance Engineer over 5 years at London Euston.

Ibby is an Associate Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. He has an MSc in Tunnelling and Underground Space and a BEng in Civil Engineering, both from the University of Warwick.

Ibby is based in Boston.
