Sarah Boffey
Sarah is a professionally qualified Track Engineer with 16 years' railway industry experience in rail infrastructure, maintenance, and capital delivery.
Sarah was initially seconded to Network Rail Consulting (NRC) in Canada in November 2023 supporting work in Toronto for the Toronto Transit Commission, reviewing and enhancing track maintenance processes, inspection regimes, and defect management strategies. She returned to NRC Canada in August 2025 as a Managing Consultant, Asset Management & Maintenance supporting Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program in Toronto.
Prior to joining NRC Sarah was a Track Maintenance Engineer for Network Rail for over 5 years, responsible for leading teams to deliver inspection and maintenance across 300 miles of track in the UK. Sarah has also held engineering assurance roles on major infrastructure projects including the Werrington Dive Under and Stevenage Turnback Platform. At the start of her career Sarah completed the Network Rail engineering graduate scheme, enabling her to gain experience across different areas of the business.
Sarah is registered with the UK Engineering Council and The Permanent Way Institute as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng, MPWI) and is pursuing Chartered Engineer (CEng) and P.Eng accreditation. She has a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham and an MSc in Railway Systems Engineering and Integration from the University of Birmingham.
Sarah is based in Toronto.
