Gillian Wood

After 25 years of experience in UK railway operations, Gillian migrated with her family to the United States in 2003, to take up the position of Customer Service Manager at the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad in Boston.

Beginning her career as a clerk in Beckenham, she advanced to Commercial Manager Kent Mainlines at Connex South Eastern, holding a variety of positions throughout London and the South East, before crossing the Atlantic. During her 10 years at MBCR, she was promoted to Chief Of Passenger Operations, and then Customer Service Chief using her UK rail experience to modernize this outdated commuter rail service. Following this, Gillian progressed to Transdev North America to work first as Director of Innovation and Operations Projects, and second as O&M Bid Director on the successful P3 bid for the Edmonton Valley Light Rail project in Toronto. Gillian joins us from her most recent position as North American Director of Proposals and New Business (Transit Division) at AECOM, bringing her expertise in European and North American Public Transport to help Network Rail expand and cement its American operations.
