Nick Allam

Nick has worked in the rail industry for 23 years and has operational experience in trains, stations and service control disciplines. He has spent the last 12 years working in project delivery for London Underground, most recently delivering integrated operational readiness for the largest re-signalling project in the world; the introduction of CBTC signalling on the Circle, Hammersmith & City, District and Metropolitan lines. He previously worked on the £200m End State Track Layout programme, the re-development and re-signalling of Neasden depot and the introduction of the 192 train S stock fleet, amongst other projects.

Nick joined Network Rail Consulting in December 2023 as an operational readiness specialist.

Prior to joining Network Rail Consulting, Nick spent 20 years with London Underground, joining as a Duty Trains Manager then working as an operational specialist in the project delivery field. He was a safety critical licence holder for trains and service control (signalling). His project experience with LU also covers project risk, network resilience and safety. Prior to joined LU, he was a Duty Station Manager with Thameslink.

Nick is a member of the Chartered Institution of Railway Operators (CIRO). He holds the CIRO diploma, APMP qualification and vocational qualifications including health & safety, risk assessment, project management and signalling principles.

Nick is based in Sydney.
