Stefan Myburgh

Stefan is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 17 years of engineering experience in a wide range of industries including nuclear, mining, defence and rail across five countries. His ability to think outside the box allows him to tackle the most complex engineering problems using systems engineering approaches. His strengths lie in engineering management, systems engineering, configuration management, product development, electrical engineering and software development.

Stefan joined Network Rail Consulting in March 2023 to expand the Queensland team’s Systems Engineering capability bringing with him the knowledge of the Cross River Rail project and local stakeholder landscape.

Prior to joining Network Rail Consulting, Stefan was the Engineering Manager for Alstom on the ETCS Level 2 project delivering the ETCS solution for the QNGR fleet of rollingstock as part of the Cross River Rail project in Brisbane. Stefan also previously worked for Hitachi STS as their Configuration Manager across trackside and onboard areas developing the configuration and assurance strategies on the Cross River Rail project.

Stefan is a Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland with the Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland. He holds a B.Eng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering as well as a M.Eng in Electronic Engineering.

Stefan is based in Brisbane, Australia.
