David Connell

David has over 28 years’ experience in the railway renewals and enhancements environment as a Track Designer delivering multi-disciplinary railway projects from concept to commissioning in the UK and has 10 years' experience on international rail design projects.

David joined Network Rail Consulting (NRC) in February 2024 as a Track Designer on the California High Speed Rail project.

Prior to joining NRC, he held the role of a Track Team Leader, Principal Engineer, CRE and Track Designer for Systra, Arcadis, AECOM, London Underground and Channel Tunnel Rail Link (HS1). He has a wide variety of experience across, Passenger/ Freight, both High-Speed and Conventional rail, Metro, Light Rail and Tram design.

David is a member of the Permanent Way Institute and has a HND in Building Studies.

David is based in London and will be relocating to Sacramento.
