Dinesh Kumar
Dinesh is an Electronics & Communications Engineer experienced in Management and Engineering of Rail-based Transport projects. He has 27 years of diverse and in-depth experience in Project Management, Design Management and System Engineering, System Integration, Safety, RAM and V&V Management.
Dinesh led the System Integration teams on the Autohaul Project, Roy Hill Project and ECP Project to successful delivery in Perth for Ansaldo STS Pty Ltd Australia.
Dinesh has performed the roles of Head of Systems Integration and Systems Assurance for Siemens Mobility Pty Ltd.
Dinesh joined Network Rail Consulting as Associate Director – RAMS & Modelling in Dec 2020. He is currently assigned to perform the role of RAM Lead in delivering the Digital Systems (ETCS Level 2) project of Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW).
Prior to joining Network Rail Consulting, Dinesh was working with Siemens Mobility Pty Ltd in the capacity of Head of Systems Assurance. He has also designed the systems engineering and Integration framework guide during his tenure of 4 years (2017-20) with Siemens Australia. Prior to joining Siemens,
Dinesh was working with Ansaldo STS (now Hitachi Rail) for 12 years in India (2005-10) and Australia (2010-2017) on different signalling projects including the autonomous freight driving solution (Autohaul Project) based on ETCS Level 2 principles. He has performed the role of Principal Systems Integration Engineer for Australian projects while has led as Head of V&V in Indian projects.
Dinesh entered the field of Rail signalling design and assurance while working with Alstom India on Delhi Metro Rail project. During his tenure of 5 years, he enhanced his skills working on Installation designs and Application designs of rail signalling for complex Metro projects.
After graduating from college, Dinesh worked with basic electrical and electronic components while designing the lighting system solutions as electronic ballasts, electronic dimmers and halogen transformers for 6 years with Linear Technologies India.
Dinesh is a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communications from CR State College of Engineering India. Dinesh also has the Post Graduate Diploma in Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Finance Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
Dinesh is currently based in Sydney.
