Stuart Tweedie

Stuart is a highly experienced Railway Signalling Professional with over 33 years’ practice in the rail industry across Project Delivery, Engineering, Operations and Asset Management. He is highly experienced in leading multi-disciplinary teams within Construction, Design, Operations and Maintenance environments for client, contactor and Alliance/Joint Ventures in both Australia and the UK.

Stuart joined Network Rail Consulting in April 2024 and is currently the Program Engineering Manager within the System Integrator Team on the Digital Systems Program delivering the roll out of ETCS Level 2, ATO and TMS across the Sydney Trains network for Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW).

Prior to joining Network Rail Consulting Stuart worked for DT Infrastructure as Technical Director, Rail Systems, providing technical guidance and support across the national Australian Rail Systems business. Before this Stuart spent 8 years at TfNSW employed as Sydney Trains Professional Head for Signals & Control Systems before transferring to Sydney Metro where he acted as the Delivery Director for the South-West project, Bankstown Line conversion, and previously the Construction Director for TSOM brownfield.

Stuart is a member of the Institute of Signal Engineers (IRSE) and has numerous rail signalling accreditation and qualifications from both Australia and the UK.

Stuart is based in Sydney.
