Babak Erfani

Babak has over 15 years of railway experience, with significant experience in project, program and portfolio management roles, project sponsorship and technical standards development. He has worked predominantly in the UK prior to joining NRC in the USA.

Babak joined Network Rail Consulting in July 2023 from parent company, Network Rail, in the UK where he led highly complex rail enhancement and renewals programs and portfolios.

Babak Joined Network Rail in 2009 and has held management roles in major projects including the Crossrail Programme, the largest engineering project in Europe at the time, leading multi-disciplinary projects. Most recently Babak has been responsible for sponsoring a portfolio of over $600 million in signalling renewal and enhancement projects.

Babak is a Chartered Project Professional and Member of the Association of Project Management, and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. In 2017 Babak was appointed an MBE by The Queen for Services to Network Rail and Diversity in Transport.

Babak is based in Boston.
