Ian Wang

Ian has over 7 years railway experience in the design, asset management and maintenance of E&P. He has extensive experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams to resolve complex systems engineering problems. He is specialised in AC/DC contact systems, power distribution network and fixed plant.

Ian joined Network Rail Consulting in May 2023 as a Management Consultant - Power Systems Engineer. Ian will be providing support to the clients with the implementation of power systems engineering and maintenance improvement initiatives.

Prior to joining Network Rail Consulting, Ian was the Electrification and Plant Maintenance Engineer at one of the busiest and most critical delivery unit in the UK. Before this, he joined Network Rail as a graduate engineer in 2017 and has worked in various departments including Contact Systems Design, Electrification and Plant Asset Management and Maintenance.

Ian is an associate member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a member of Institution of Asset Management. He has MEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering – Mechatronics Stream from Nottingham University.

Ian is based in Boston.
