Sam Whittle

Sam is an experienced railway engineer with a background in track engineering, with more recent roles allowing him to diversify across multiple disciplines, managing change programs, system change and risk management. 

Most recently Sam was Head of Maintenance Reliability for Network Rail, leading on Risk Based Maintenance, technical support to the £197m Intelligent Infrastructure Program and Standardised Tasks. 

Joining Network Rail in 2007 as Principal Technical Officer (Track), working through various Engineer grades, across the network to join the Safety, Technical and Engineering team as Senior Engineer for Risk Based Maintenace in 2014. Eventually becoming the Head of Maintenance Reliability in 2017.

Sam is currently completing a Master of Science in Railway Systems Engineering and Integration from the University of Birmingham.
