Andrew Mitchem

Andrew is a highly experienced railway infrastructure engineer with 26 years’ experience across the UK rail industry - the majority (18 years) with Network Rail and its predecessors. His main area of technical expertise is in signal engineering, with 11 years’ frontline experience as a railway Signal Engineer in the UK.  Andrew’s focus is the improvement of asset management and maintenance processes to deliver higher railway reliability and performance. He specializes in the management and delivery of complex maintenance and renewals projects covering a range of asset groups including signals, electrification, structures and earthworks. Andrew is a qualified reliability centred maintenance facilitator and has in-depth experience of process improvement techniques (speed and quality) such as LEAN and Six Sigma. He is experienced in the planning, leadership and delivery of maintenance projects and programmes.
